2026-01-29T02:24:08+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mohammad Ricky Ramadhan Rasyid (Author) https://www.hiskisultra.org/jurnal/index.php/seshiski/article/view/92 LOCAL WISDOM IN THE SOUTH SULAWESI FOLKTALE PUTRI TANDAMPALIK 2026-01-29T07:12:40+00:00 Afriani Ulya afrianiulya11494@gmail.com
This research aims to analyze the local wisdom in the folktale of South Sulawesi, Putri Tandampalik. The research method used is the qualitative descriptive method. The research data consists of events depicted in the folktale of Putri Tandampalik, which is also used as the data source. The folktale that serves as the data source for this research is published by the Malay Cultural Research and Development Center under the title 366 Cerita Rakyat Nusantara. The data collection technique was carried out using careful reading and note-taking methods. Data analysis and interpretation were conducted lexically and contextually, primarily concerning local wisdom formulated verbally and nonverbally. The research results show that the folktale of Putri Tandampalik reflects the social interaction habits of the people of South Sulawesi and the values contained in the folktale, which include moral and educational values, especially the cultural values of South Sulawesi known as Siri na Pacce culture. The novel tells the story of Chinese immigrants from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds in the United States. They have to mingle their identity by mimicking the American culture to survive in the US society. In Bhabha's postcolonial theory, the mingling process is related to mimicry to negotiate identities. The Chinese immigrants tried to mimic the American culture and sustain their Chinese identity on the other side. From these two things, mimicry can be formed because of the process of ambivalence; these concepts are one of the formations of mimicry of culture. It is proposed not only to resist the stereotypical images associated to Chinese identities in the US but also to reveal the product of hybridity as a zone of resistance and creativity.
2026-01-29T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Rasiah Rasiah; Nur Iklima Dewi (Author) https://www.hiskisultra.org/jurnal/index.php/seshiski/article/view/97 PEWARISAN SASTRA LISAN KABHANTI GAMBUSU 2026-01-29T07:14:12+00:00 La Sudu lasudu7@gmail.com
The inheritance of kabhanti gambusu is the process of passing knowledge about kabhanti gambusu from one generation to the next, carried out both formally and informally. The sustainability and continuity of kabhanti gambusu depend on its inheritance; in other words, it depends on the community's concern, especially the speakers or tradition practitioners, to pass it on to the next generation. This type of research is library research using qualitative descriptive methods, analysis of feminist literary criticism, and socialist feminism as supporting theories. The data in this research are words, phrases, sentences or paragraphs related to the trafficking of women in the novel Amoi: The Girl Who Reaches Dreams by Mya Ye. The results of this research show that women's trafficking occurs because of the patriarchal system and the capitalist system which exploits the bodies of Singkawang women so that they are unconsciously trapped in transnational crime (trafficking). Various forms of women trafficking that occur in Singkawang are through marriage, forced prostitution and forced labor. The basic factors that cause Singkawang women to be trapped in trafficking are poverty and low access to education. Poverty occurs because of two systems: (1) the capitalist system, a system that emphasizes profit and efficiency so that female workers are paid low wages to maintain minimum production costs and maximize profits for capital owners; (2) patriarchal system, a system that places women in the traditional role as housewives who depend on men for their economic needs. Low access to education is caused by: (1) traditional roles which are characteristic of the patriarchal system, causing women to be deemed not to need to receive education and emphasizing women's dependence on men; (2) efforts to "impoverish" women in the capitalist system so that women have difficulty developing skills and objectify women by social standards.
2026-01-29T02:35:02+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Nurlailatul Qadriani (Author) https://www.hiskisultra.org/jurnal/index.php/seshiski/article/view/98 PELANGGARAN MAKSIM KESANTUNAN BERBAHASA DI LINGKUNGAN SMP NEGERI 10 KENDARI 2026-01-29T07:14:31+00:00 Sahur Saerudin sahur.saerudin@uho.ac.id
Language not only functions as a means of conveying information, but also reflects social attitudes, cultural values, and norms of politeness in human interactions. In the context of education, especially in elementary schools, polite language is an important aspect because it plays a role in shaping the character and social skills of students. This study aims to describe the forms of violations of linguistic politeness maxims and the factors behind them in verbal interactions at SMP Negeri 10 Kendari. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research data consists of verbal statements obtained from interactions between teachers and students, students and students, and students and other school officials. Data analysis was conducted using a pragmatic approach based on Leech's politeness principle theory, specifically the maxims of wisdom, praise, and sympathy. The results show that violations of politeness in language still frequently occur in everyday communication in the school environment. Violations of the maxim of wisdom are evident in students' speech when they complain or make demands to teachers and canteen staff in an impolite manner. Violations of the maxim of praise are evident in the use of harsh, demeaning, and insulting words among students, such as ridicule and sarcasm, which can threaten the self-esteem of the addressee. Meanwhile, violations of the maxim of sympathy are seen in students' lack of empathy towards friends who are experiencing difficulties, which are instead responded to with ridicule. These violations have the potential to trigger conflict and damage social harmony in schools. Therefore, this study recommends the need to continuously instill the value of polite language through teacher role modeling and habituation in the learning process in order to create a polite, harmonious, and character-building school environment
2026-01-29T02:36:21+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Sahur Saerudin (Author) https://www.hiskisultra.org/jurnal/index.php/seshiski/article/view/93 A STYLISTIC ANALYSIS OF SYNTACTIC STRUCTURES IN THE DIALOGUES OF 12 ANGRY MEN (1957) 2026-01-29T07:14:38+00:00 Rifki Adriansyah ardiansyahrifki41@gmail.com Firna Hijharianti Arditha firnahijhariantiarditha@gmail.com Nafilah Nafza Islami nafilahnafzaislami@gmail.com Salman Al Farezel salmanfarezel67@sma.belajar.id Mutmainnah Mutmainnah mutmainnah@uho.ac.id
This study aims to analyze the syntactic structures found in the dialogues of the film 12 Angry Men (1957) from a stylistic perspective. The research focuses on three syntactic aspects, namely sentence length (simple and complex sentences), sentence types (interrogative and imperative forms), and repetition. The data were obtained from selected dialogues in the film and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The results show that syntactic structures function not only as grammatical forms but also as stylistic devices that contribute to characterization, power relations, and the development of argumentative tension among the jurors. Simple sentences are predominantly used to express strong opinions, emotional responses, and prejudice, while complex sentences are employed to convey logical reasoning and reflective arguments, particularly by Juror #8. Furthermore, interrogative and imperative sentence forms are frequently used indirectly to control the discussion and influence other characters. Repetition is utilized to emphasize key ideas, highlight psychological conditions, and reinforce central legal concepts such as reasonable doubt. This study concludes that syntactic variation plays a crucial role in constructing meaning and realism in film dialogue. The findings are expected to contribute to linguistic and stylistic studies, especially in the analysis of language use in cinematic discourse.
2026-01-29T02:37:29+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mutmainnah Mutmainnah, Rifki Adriansyah, Firna Hijharianti Arditha, Nafilah Nafza Islami, Salman Al Farezel (Author) https://www.hiskisultra.org/jurnal/index.php/seshiski/article/view/96 REGISTER DRIVER MAXIM DALAM GRUP WHATSAPP “PASUKAN ANTI SAMBAT 2026-01-29T07:14:45+00:00 Wa Ode Halfian wdhalfian@gmail.com Asmariani Asmariani asmariani@gmail.com Ashmarita Ashmarita ashmarita@gmail.com
The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of the register used by Maxim drivers in the WhatsApp group “Pasukan Anti Sambat.” The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method.
